First snow in October

The boys have missed snow and Kian is obsessed with santa claus, snow, winter, and christmas so Jeff took them up to rock canyon when it snowed in the mountains so the boys could get a closer look. They loved it.

Halloween 2010

This year we really took in all that Halloween had to offer. We went to no less than seven halloween parties, one trunk or treat as well as trick or treating on halloween. It has been great to be back in the USA.

Kian insisted on being a superhero this year and Darian was a giraffe (again. thanks madar).

Darian turned 3 on September 11

We had a birthday party for him up at South Fork Park. It was right by the river and it was beautiful. We had a pizza and pie party.

With a requisite pinata of course.

Kian started school

Poor Kian started kindergarten this year and has to get up up at 7:30 every morning. Darian is up at that time just waiting for the rest of us to get up, but Kian is a night owl and hates to get up so early. You can see how happy he is, even though we got him a special first day of school breakfast.

He was slightly happier in his first day of school shot.

Darian is still free. He'll be in preschool for another three years or so. His favorite thing to do is pick Kian up from school though, its the highlight of his day. And everything fun that happens to him, he wants to happen to Kian. He's a very loving younger brother.

So we moved to Utah...a while ago

I'm a little behind on the blogging but I wanted to write a bit about what we've been up to, in condensed form. We moved to Utah in June, and Jeff kindly drove all of our stuff to Utah for us.

We bought a beautiful old house that needs a lot of work. We're not living in it but look forward to it being finished.

The kids loved summer in Utah. This is their favorite spot to gather "weapons" (ie rocks and sticks), Rock canyon.

Kian's Questions

As we were going to bed the other day, Kian says to me, Mom I have three questions:

1. What is the difference between clams and oysters?
2. Can you cut a planet with a knife? and
3. Why are there no more dinosaurs?

Walk around Manhattan

Jeff and I decided it was a good idea to walk around the perimeter of Manhattan. 35 miles in total. It was a great idea except I forgot that my old lady body didn't agree. Jeff had loaded up our moving truck that he is driving across country to Utah the day before so he was hurtin' as well.

We made it though. Our stubbornness prevailed in the end.

Darian's Motorcycle Obsession

Our good friend Adam came to visit from upstate and boy was Darian pleased when he pulled up with his motorcycle. Darian was up especially early every morning to sit on the motorcycle. He insisted on wearing the helmet which actually fit on his large head surprisingly well.

Adam was nice enough to take the boys on some rides and teach them the secret hand signs of the riders.

Unemployed in Goshen

You may wonder what we do with our time unemployed in Goshen. Well, we take naps wherever we want, whenever we want.

Eat plenty of watermelon with Baba, who insists we eat it everyday.

Clean carpets in our underwear outside with Madar.

Other Goshen delights

Baba keeps an unlimited stash of gum in his car. Oh and he lets the boys drive the car.
