We got dogs! 
From no pets (didn't mention it earlier but our chicks both died. It was tragic. Don't want to discuss) to three dogs!
Pluto (rhodesian ridgeback), Ufa and Jake (mix of rhodesian ridgeback and doberman and something else)
Kian and Darian love them. We are excited not only to have them as pets, because they are adorable dogs but they will also be good guard dogs at night. They actually prevented a few burglaries for the last family they lived with, so we are hopeful they will also be good to us.

How fun for your boys! Our parakeet died and we're surprising our kids with a pug puppy on Christmas. But unlike yours, ours will be useless since it's a toy breed. It will do nothing but snort and look cute and get tired after running with me for 10 minutes.
